There are things seen
that can’t be unseen
Some we sought
others were just there
along the path
Still others had nothing to do with us
with our search;
they pleasantly surprised us
or were violently thrust upon us
Let’s take care
what we seek
the paths we search
Let’s take care, too
the sights we attend to
the ones we let wither
the ones we beg for mercy
to unsee
