Mary-ing

Christmas is a lot of Martha-ing
Not so much Mary-ing

I’d like to choose the good part
Alongside Mary

A Mary Christmas seems fitting

38 Now as they were traveling along, He entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who was also seated at the Lord’s feet, and was listening to His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do the serving by myself? Then tell her to help me.” 41 But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and distracted by many things; 42 but only one thing is necessary; for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.”

The whole truth

If love is not in the truth I tell

I’m not telling the whole truth.

Peacemakers

Everyone hates

Hates a peacemaker

Who asks us

Calmly

To give up

Give up what is rightfully ours

For a greater cause

Each other

That’s why they are blessed

Called the children of God

Bible reading Scripture

Continue well

Once you have finished either Mark or John (referring back to Begin well…), then read the other.

Jesus did what he did because he was who he was.

He was who he was because he did what he did.

Once you have read both Mark and John, read Matthew and then Luke.

As you read, remember: the point is to know Jesus better. Look back to Resolved to read? and Does it translate? to help set that context.

This and that

This is not the life
that gives life;
That is given
so we might live
both.

I came that they might have life and have it abundantly.

Jesus (John 10:10)

Grace and peace to you…
