If you, like me, were taught
-maybe not in words-
your worth depends on what you do
And if your gut, like mine, tells you
-not in words-
you believe this to be true
Then, in spite of what we tell ourselves in words
we, both you and I, have a situation:
Our worth, yours and mine, is a doctrine
we try to prove with our words and our deeds
Instead of the plain truth we live out each day
in the safety of each other’s arms.

Grace and peace to you this day…

How beautiful, DW. And how true. I am always trying to put my heart where my mouth is and where my deeds are. When I can quite trying, I will be successful.

Thank you, Pam. I wish I lived as though I believed the plain truth, but I don’t. When you figure it out, please write a wonderful post about it🙂

Constant for me, too. Writing helps me process it, live with it, but doesn’t cure it. Grace and peace to you…
