When I used to go to church

When I used to go to church

I wasn’t who I was

Neither was God

So we both left

Sad

Disappointed

For my church-going friends

I mean no harm

This is poetry

Expressing the experience of many

Not doctrine

Saying how it should be

Grace and peace to you…

Maybe we can find others near us who want to start their own little gatherings of life and love. This has been on my mind lately. Knowing I need community and something faith shared. And when I look at Jesus and his close circle..and who was in his close circle..I’m like, “ why haven’t I noticed this before?” It was much more simpler and intimate… a lot more practical.. and when you get too many people..too many lessons..all that comes with the organizing of things..it seems bound to lose its sight. I use to think the big churches were the ones doing something..lately I’m thinking otherwise. He may have kept a small circle to show us just how it’s suppose to work… intimate, helpful, rewarding.. not more than one can bear… but just enough to support those within it 😊
